Parents or guardians;
Schools will not open for instruction on Tuesday, Sept 2nd. We believe that teachers will not report for work and the strike will continue. Unfortunately the negotiators for the BCTF and the BCPSEA could not reach a negotiated settlement over the weekend. The parties met with the assistance of Vince Ready and while he determined that the parties are too far apart he remains in contact with them. Student safety continues to be our highest priority and we do not have the capacity to supervise large numbers of students not to offer educational programs. We respectfully ask that parents do not bring children to schools on Tuesday and for the duration of the strike. Most daycares will be open and we advise parents will be allowed to cross picket lines to escort their children to daycares and pre-schools. Please contact your provider to review opening and closing times and procedures. Please continue to monitor our website at www.sd43.bc.ca for any news or updated information regarding the strike. Sincerely Thomas Grant Superintendent of Schools Comments are closed.
