The Walton PAC is pleased to announce the support of classroom technology as our major initiative for the 2016/17 school year.
In line with the new BC Education curriculum, the PAC is providing funding to supply a class sets of laptops, iPads, and primary grade pre-coding kits. The new laptops purchased from our PAC funds will go to replacing aging computers in our school and will allow more students guided computer access and exposure to coding concepts. Previously, our school was limited to a few iPads in a select number of classrooms. The addition of new iPads will allow for the creation of a class set that can be moved as a lab between classrooms. The iPad lab will be shared by all classes but in particular will provide the primary grades with a more age appropriate technology experience. The pre-coding kits will be shared by the primary classrooms to introduce logic and coding concepts. These kits will include activities like Kapla Building Blocks, SnapCircuits, and LittleBits. Walton PAC is excited be able to outfit the school with these new resources. We would like to thank the parents and community for their generous support of the PAC fundraisers that have made these purchases possible. The following documents are now available below:
