Traffic Safety Volunteers
We are proud of our Traffic Safety Program at the school, where two parent volunteer helpers in high visibility vests come to Walton faithfully every morning and afternoon to help traffic flow smoothly and students and their families keep safe on the streets.
We are looking for parents who are able to help out once or twice a week for a half-hour shift between 8:25 and 8:55 a.m. (morning shift) or 2:30 and 3:00 p.m. (afternoon shift). Backup helpers who are able to fill in occasionally for someone who is unable to make his or her regular shift would also be very much appreciated.
Contrary to popular belief, traffic safety volunteers rarely have to confront rude drivers - you will mostly be helping community members stay safe. This is a great and simple way to do something for our community and meet some very nice people. All material necessary will be supplied by the PAC; no prior experience needed; ability to speak a foreign language or two an absolute asset!
