The Walton PAC Hot Lunch Committee is pleased to offer online ordering for hot lunches with new entrees. This is to ensure accuracy with the orders and to make the process as easy for everyone as possible. The first Hot Lunch with On Line ordering will be the Subway sandwich lunch on Wed Dec 2. Ordering deadline is Nov 24.
Here's how to get started...
PayPal We only accept payment for new entrée hot lunches through PayPal. You can either pay with a credit card as a PayPal guest (Visa, Mastercard, or Amex), or use your own PayPal account. No cheque or cash payments will be accepted for these hot lunches. We will continue to accept cash payment for pizza hot lunches on the day of the hot lunch. The hot lunch online order system requires a small amount of setup time at the beginning as you must register each child you have attending the school, prior to ordering hot lunches. Once the initial setup process is complete, your hot lunch orders for the remainder of the year should be quick and simple. **Please Note: If you experience any issues with your PayPal account, please contact PayPal directly to solve the issue.
Dear Walton Parents and Staff:
We'd like to express our deepest gratitude to everyone who donated and shopped at Walton's first swap meet. We made a tremendous impact on not only raising money for PAC but also finding new loving homes for all the things that we no longer use. It was an amazing success and we managed to raise over $1000 for PAC toward purchasing technology and books or other expense for this school year! A very special thank you to all the volunteers who made this happened and a BIG thank you for Mrs. Dupuis for volunteering and creating banners for this event. Thank you so much for all your support. We couldn't have done it without you! Sincerely, Ivonne & Lynn Walton Swapmeet Team Movie – “The Big Picture – Rethinking Dyslexia”

The J.W. McConnell Family Foundation is designing a new child and youth initiative focused on wellbeing in schools. Students, parents, teachers, and administrators are encouraged to complete an anonymous 20 minute survey by February 15, 2014 at www.surveymonkey.com/s/studentwellbeingcanada This survey will provide essential input to the design of a robust initiative: what schools are doing now and what they could be doing better/differently, and who needs to be engaged and how. If you would like to be kept informed and engaged in other ways, sign up for their newsletter using the link at the end of the survey. All parents are invited to the Jan DPAC general meeting to vote in two vacant positions. As many of you are aware, a new board was elected during the November general civic election. Two DPAC executive members were elected to the board, during the Jan DPAC general meeting we will vote in their replacements. We currently have the position of President & a Member at Large position to fill (all positions are for a 1 year term except for President which is a 2 year term):

Right now, students are encouraged to sort paper and cardboard into recycling bins and rinse and recycle food and drink containers whenever possible. A big thank you to Mrs. Nicole St. Pierre and the grade four and five recycling volunteer students for their work and leadership in our recycling program! The empties are taken to the depot once a week and we have earned over $100 in refunds since the beginning of the school year. All students can contribute and learn how to reduce the amount of garbage they create day by day. Mrs. St. Pierre is working on expanding the recycling project to include collecting green waste (food leftovers, apple cores, fruit peel, etc.) for composting. This said, ideally a student’s lunch and recess food and drink would not leave any garbage behind at all. So how can families come closer to the goal of an entirely litter-less lunch? Happily, often eating healthier and creating less waste go hand in hand. Here are some tips to consider: Reduce
